Garena dropped the OB55 patch notes on 10 September 2026, and the update goes live on 1 October alongside the new Clash Squad season. Four new guns are coming: M7, Skorp, RPK and Hawk. They show up in both Battle Royale (BR) and Clash Squad (CS). On top of that, M249, M60 and Kord get buffs, while Woodpecker takes a nerf. If you want the full picture of what else is changing, check our Free Fire weapons guide too.

OB55 Weapons at a Glance

  • 4 new weapons: M7 (assault rifle), Skorp (SMG), RPK (LMG) and Hawk (sniper rifle)
  • New recoil: all four pull straight up as you fire, no more random spray
  • M7 loot: rare ground loot in high-tier blue zones and arsenals
  • Super Revival: you now come back with a Skorp

How the New Recoil Works

This is the biggest change in OB55, honestly. Older guns miss because the bullets scatter in random directions. The four new ones climb in one steady line instead. Once you learn that pull and drag against it, your shots land again and again. You just can’t do that with spread guns like the AK47.

How to Control M7 Recoil

Garena hasn’t shared any recoil numbers, so there’s no “perfect” setting to copy from anyone. These steps work for any gun that climbs:

  1. Learn the line first. Fire the M7 at a wall in Training Ground and watch where the shots go.
  2. Drag down slowly. Match the speed of the climb. Go too fast and you hit the ground, too slow and you’re shooting the sky.
  3. Use short bursts at long range. The climb stays small, so every burst starts from a clean aim.
  4. Find your own sensitivity. Try a few settings in Training Ground and keep the one that feels steady.

M7: The Balanced Assault Rifle

Garena calls the M7 “balanced”, and the steady upward recoil is what sets it apart from spread rifles like the AK47.

  • BR location: rare ground loot in high-tier blue zones and arsenals
  • BR vending machine: 400 FF Coins, up to 5 per match
  • CS price: 1600

Skorp: The High Fire Rate SMG

Skorp is a fast SMG that can cut through armor. It holds 30 bullets and has the same recoil style as the M7. Its best trick comes after a Super Revival, because you return with a Skorp in hand and can start fighting right away.

  • BR vending machine: 100 FF Coins, no limit
  • CS price: 1500

RPK: The Accurate LMG

Think machine-gun power with the speed of an assault rifle. RPK holds 75 bullets, and Garena tags it as “accurate”.

  • CS price: 1500

RPK vs M60

Both are machine guns, but they play very differently in OB55.

RPK M60
Status New gun Buffed
Magazine 75 bullets 85 bullets (was 70)
Garena tag Accurate Not tagged
Recoil New upward pull Old style
Best for Players who want an easy-to-move machine gun Players who want the biggest magazine

Every machine gun buff comes with a cost, like slower movement, slower reload or less accuracy. Crouch for full accuracy and only stand up when you need to move.

Hawk: The Two-Shot Sniper

Hawk is a proper sniper rifle, not a marksman rifle. Garena marks it as “high damage”. It holds only two bullets, but it fires them fast. Aim rises when you shoot quickly, and two hits can break low-tier armor outright.

  • BR vending machine: 400 FF Coins, up to 5 per match
  • CS price: 1700

Don’t think of it as a Woodpecker replacement, though. Woodpecker is still in the game, just weaker.

Hawk vs AWM

Hawk AWM
Bullets 2 Not changed in this patch
BR vending machine 400 FF Coins (max 5) 600 FF Coins (max 3)
CS price 1700 2100 (was 2200)
Best for Fast follow-up shots A cheaper CS pick than before

Hawk is cheaper in BR and you can buy more per match. Miss, though, and you’re reloading fast, so it suits players who aim well and move quickly.

Which New Weapon Fits Your Play Style

Garena hasn’t published official rankings, so this is based on the tag each gun got:

  • One gun for most fights: M7 (“balanced”)
  • Rushing and close fights: Skorp (“high fire rate”)
  • Steady, safe shots: RPK (“accurate”)
  • Landing hard shots under pressure: Hawk (“high damage”)

Where to Find Each Weapon in BR

Weapon Ground loot Vending machine
M7 Rare (blue zones, arsenals) 400 FF Coins (max 5)
Skorp Yes 100 FF Coins (no limit)
Hawk Yes 400 FF Coins (max 5)
AWM Yes 600 FF Coins (max 3)

Guns can now break arsenal glass too. And if you’re chasing an M7, the Nine Tails event can open arsenals without a key (Bermuda only).

What Changed for Your Old Loadout

Machine guns

  • Damage is the same standing or crouching, but standing costs you accuracy. Crouch for the full thing.
  • M60 magazine goes from 70 to 85, and Kord from 50 to 60.

Other guns

  • SMGs move faster but lose range: Vector -30%, MP5 -20%, P90 -15%.
  • Assault rifles get more accurate: Kingfisher +21%, SCAR +10%, M4A1 +7%.
  • Snipers and marksman rifles slow you down while carried.
  • Shotguns: M590 does +120% minimum damage, but range drops by 25%.
  • Upgradable weapons need more damage to level up, 400/600/800 instead of 200/400/800.

Characters and revival

  • Luna’s fire rate bonus drops from 8% to 5%.
  • Super Bonfire is weaker and Kenta is reworked, so retest your old character combos.
  • Solo revival time falls from 540s to 410s.
  • You can switch guns while parachuting after a revival, which makes the Skorp start even more useful.

Who Should Skip Hawk

If you struggle to land two quick shots, skip it. One miss and you’re reloading while the enemy runs straight at you. AWM (600 coins) or an easier rifle is the safer bet.

OB55 Events

Weapon Surge, Peak Mania and “Airdrops? Meteors!” (new on 1 October) all change where and how you find guns, so keep an eye on them. Our OB55 events guide covers each one.
